Subject:
"I wish somebody would tell me what 'diddie wa diddie' means."
Classic ragtime blues (Paramount 12888-B; recorded 1929-08-17; flip side to "Police Dog Blues") by Blind Blake, "with each break a minor masterpiece". Originally (& unaccountably) released as "Diddle Wa Diddle". (It was re-recorded by Blake the following year; that version was issued as "Diddie Wa Diddie No.2" [Paramount 12994-B; rec. 1930-05-30].)
